Invisalign® treatment, from the dentist who teaches it

Invisalign® treatment straightens teeth with clear, removable aligners worn 20–22 hours a day and changed every one to two weeks. It suits adults who want straighter teeth without fixed braces. Mild cases take a few months; complex ones 12–18 months or more. Your consultation includes an iTero™ scan and an outcome preview before you commit. Guide fee from £4,500.

Who it is for

Who Invisalign treatment suits

Crowded or overlapping teeth

Crowding is the most common reason adults ask about aligners. Each aligner moves selected teeth a fraction of a millimetre, creating space and bringing them into line. Mild crowding can often be corrected within a few months.

Gaps between teeth

Aligners close spaces gradually and evenly, so the teeth meet without leaning. Where a gap is caused by a small or missing tooth, we may plan to finish with composite bonding or a restoration instead of closing it fully.

Teeth that have moved since braces

Teeth drift when retainers stop being worn. If yours have crept back since childhood braces, aligners can usually recover the position, and the course is often shorter than the first time round.

A diary full of meetings

Aligners come out for meals, presentations and photographs, then go straight back in. Appointments are fewer and shorter than with fixed braces, so treatment fits around your work instead of interrupting it.

Experience

Planned by Dr Amit Patel

Dr Amit Patel is an Invisalign® provider and teaches other dentists as an Align Technology speaker and clinical mentor. Your Invisalign® treatment starts from an iTero™ scan, and you see a ClinCheck® simulation of the planned tooth movement before you decide.

The difference

What changes the result

Planned by the dentist who teaches it

Dr Amit Patel is an Invisalign Platinum Provider, an Align Technology speaker and a clinical mentor to other dentists. He leads Invisalign treatment here. The planning detail he teaches to colleagues is the detail that goes into your case.

You see the outcome first

An iTero scan records your teeth in a few minutes, with no impression putty. The outcome simulation then shows your own teeth moving towards their likely finishing position, on screen, at the consultation. You decide after seeing it.

A ClinCheck® plan, stage by stage

Your ClinCheck plan is the full 3D treatment plan. It sets out each tooth movement, the number of aligners and the expected duration before anything is made. The guide fee is £350, and you approve the plan before aligners are ordered.

Attachments and IPR, in plain terms

Attachments are small tooth-coloured shapes bonded to certain teeth so the aligners can grip them. Interproximal reduction, or IPR, polishes a fraction of a millimetre of enamel from between teeth to create space. Your plan shows where each is needed.

01

Consultation and scan

We examine your teeth and gums, take photographs and scan with the iTero scanner. You see the outcome simulation there and then, and we talk through timings, fees and whether aligners are the right option for you.

02

ClinCheck plan

Dr Patel designs your ClinCheck plan in 3D. You go through it on screen, movement by movement, and can ask for changes if the result is not what you had in mind. Aligners are ordered once you approve it.

03

Fitting

Your first aligners are fitted and checked. Any attachments are bonded on, which needs no drilling or injections, and any planned IPR is carried out. We show you how to insert, remove and clean the aligners.

04

Wear and review

Wear each aligner for 20–22 hours a day and change to the next every one to two weeks, as prescribed. Review appointments are short. We check each tooth is tracking to plan and adjust if it is not.

05

Finish and retain

Attachments are polished away and we scan for your Vivera™ retainers. If a tooth needs a final adjustment, a short run of refinement aligners can be added. Whitening or composite bonding can follow once the teeth are in position.

Afterwards

Aftercare

Teeth can drift at any age, so retention is for life. We advise Vivera retainers, worn as directed, typically every night. Clean them daily and keep the spares safe. Many people finish with whitening or composite bonding to refine colour and edges. Regular check-ups and hygienist visits protect the result, and straighter teeth are usually easier to keep clean.

Common questions

Questions, answered

How long does Invisalign treatment take?+

It depends on how far the teeth need to move. Mild cases can finish in a few months, while complex ones take 12–18 months or more. Your ClinCheck plan gives an expected duration before you start.

How much does Invisalign treatment cost?+

Our guide fee for Invisalign treatment is from £4,500. The ClinCheck 3D plan is £350 and Vivera retainers for both arches are £495. You receive a written plan with the exact fee before treatment starts.

Does Invisalign treatment hurt?+

Expect pressure or tightness for the first few days of each new aligner. That is the teeth beginning to move, and it usually settles quickly. Most people manage with ordinary pain relief, if they need any at all.

Will people notice the aligners or attachments?+

Aligners are clear and sit closely against the teeth, so most people will not notice them in conversation. Attachments are tooth-coloured and small. They are a little more visible when the aligners are out, and they are polished away at the end.

Can I see the result before I commit?+

Yes. Your consultation includes an iTero scan and an outcome simulation, which shows a preview of your own teeth after treatment. The simulation is a guide, and the detailed ClinCheck plan follows if you decide to go further.

Can I eat and drink with aligners in?+

Take them out for everything except water. Hot drinks can distort the plastic, and food or sugary drinks trapped under an aligner raise the risk of decay. Brush or rinse before putting them back in.

Do I need retainers after Invisalign treatment?+

Yes, for as long as you want your teeth to stay straight. Teeth drift throughout life, whatever treatment moved them. We advise Vivera retainers, typically worn every night, at £495 for both arches.
