Technology

We would rather show you than tell you.

Every piece of equipment at Widegate House is here for one of three reasons: it makes the diagnosis clearer, the treatment more precise or the visit shorter. All of it is on site, so nothing needs a second journey.

CBCT 3D imaging

See the whole picture

A cone beam CT scan builds a three-dimensional image of your teeth, roots, jawbone and nerves in seconds, at a low radiation dose. A flat X-ray shows a shadow; CBCT shows the structure. We use it to plan implants precisely, to map complex root canals and to find problems that hide on ordinary X-rays. Because it is in the building, there is no referral and no second trip.

No more impression putty

Two intra-oral scanners record your teeth as an accurate 3D model in a couple of minutes. You see it on screen straight away. The iTero™ scanner shows a simulated Invisalign® treatment outcome at your consultation and tracks tooth wear between visits. Primescan captures the fine detail a same-day crown is designed from.

Work you cannot do by eye

Root canals are often narrower than a millimetre. Under the microscope they can be found, cleaned and sealed with far more certainty, and hairline cracks in a tooth become visible. Dr Spencer Richman carries out all his root canal treatment this way.
