Cookie policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies this website uses, and how you can control them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. Similar technologies, such as pixels and tags, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too. Some are needed for a website to work. Others help the website owner understand how the site is used or measure advertising.

Cookies that are always on

A small number of cookies are strictly necessary. They keep the website secure, help pages load properly and remember the choices you make about cookies. These do not need your consent, and the site may not work properly without them.

Cookies we only use with your consent

We will only set analytics, advertising or social media cookies if you agree to them. Whenever we use them, we will ask for your consent through a cookie banner when you first visit, and you can change your mind at any time. If you decline, the website will still work.

Analytics. We may use tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website, for example which pages are visited and how long visits last, so we can improve it. This information is reported to us in aggregate and does not identify you by name.

Advertising and tracking pixels. We may use the Meta Pixel (for Facebook and Instagram) and Google Ads tags to measure how well our adverts work and to show our adverts to people who have visited this website. These tools may collect information such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and your IP address.

Social media and embedded content. Some pages may include content from other services, such as Google Maps, YouTube or Instagram. When that content loads, those services may set their own cookies.

What we use today

At the moment we use two tools to understand how this website is used. Google Search Console shows how the website appears in Google search results. Plausible Analytics counts page visits, where visitors came from and clicks on our booking, WhatsApp, phone and email links, so we can see what is useful. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not keep your IP address; we only see totals, which are stored in the EU. Neither tool places cookies on your device. We will update this page before we start using any of the consent-based tools above.

Google Maps

Some pages on this website show a map from Google Maps. When a map loads, Google may set cookies and receive information such as your IP address. We only load these maps if you choose Accept in our cookie banner, or press Show map on a single map. If you choose Reject, each map has a link to open the address in Google Maps instead.

Managing cookies

You can change your cookie choices at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, which brings the cookie banner back, or through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; your browser’s help pages explain how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the website working.

You can read how these providers use information in the Google privacy policy and the Meta privacy policy.

Changes and contact

We will update this page whenever we add or change a cookie or tracking tool. This policy was last updated in October 2026. If you have any questions, call or WhatsApp 07497 573 936 or email info@widegatedental.com. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information more generally.
