Terms and conditions

These terms apply to your dental care at Widegate House and to your use of this website.

About these terms

These terms apply to private dental care at Widegate House Dental Practice and to your use of this website. Please read them before your first appointment. They sit alongside your written treatment plan, our privacy policy and our complaints procedure. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Who we are

Widegate House Dental Practice is a trading name of Widegate Dental Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16597931. Our registered office is 334–336 Goswell Road, London EC1V 7RP. The practice is at 26 Widegate Street, London E1 7HP.

You can contact us at info@widegatedental.com or on 07497 573 936.

The practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission. Our dentists and dental care professionals are registered with the General Dental Council, and each clinician’s GDC number is shown on their page on this website.

Private dental care

Widegate House is a private practice. We do not provide NHS dental treatment. The fees shown on this website are guide fees. Your exact fees are set out in your written treatment plan.

Your assessment and treatment plan

After your assessment we give you a written treatment plan. It sets out the options we discussed, what each involves, the likely number of visits and an itemised fee. Treatment plans are valid for 30 days.

We will ask for your consent before treatment begins. You can ask questions at any stage, and you can change your mind or withdraw your consent at any time.

Sometimes a tooth turns out to need different treatment once work has started. If anything changes that affects your plan or your fee, we will explain why and agree it with you before we go ahead, unless it is an emergency and you are unable to give consent at that moment.

Fees and payment

Our payment policy is that we require payment for each treatment in advance to secure your appointments. For longer courses of treatment, the payment stages are set out in your treatment plan.

We accept debit and credit cards, American Express, Apple Pay and bank transfer.

Finance may be available to spread the cost of treatment from £250 to £30,000, subject to status. Finance is provided by a third-party lender, and any finance agreement is between you and that lender. Applicants must be over 18.

If you decide to stop a course of treatment part way through, you pay for the treatment already provided and for any laboratory work, aligners, retainers or other appliances already made or ordered for you. Any money you have paid in advance for treatment we have not provided will be refunded.

Appointments and cancellations

If your appointment time becomes inconvenient for you, we are always happy to change it if you give us 48 hours’ notice.

If you give less than 48 hours’ notice, or do not attend a scheduled appointment, we charge a cancellation or missed appointment fee of £50 per 30 minutes of clinical time lost.

Sometimes cancellations cannot be helped because of illness or an emergency, and we will take all valid circumstances into account.

If you arrive late, we will do what we can in the time remaining. Where there is not enough time to treat you safely, we may need to rebook your appointment, and the missed appointment fee may apply.

Registration and attendance

Patients stay registered with us for 2 years from their last visit. We recommend a check-up every 6 to 12 months, depending on your oral health, and we will advise what suits you.

If you miss 2 or more appointments without notice, we may no longer be able to see you as a patient at the practice.

Your medical history

Please tell us about your general health, any medicines you take, allergies and any changes, such as pregnancy, before each course of treatment. We will ask you to review your medical history regularly. This information helps us keep your treatment safe.

Children

Patients under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with parental responsibility, who will be asked to give consent for their treatment.

If you have a problem with your treatment

We provide treatment with reasonable care and skill. If you have a problem with treatment we have provided, please contact us as soon as possible. We will review it with you and, where appropriate, put things right.

Any guarantee on a specific treatment will be written in your treatment plan. Guarantees usually depend on you attending your check-ups and hygiene visits and following the aftercare advice we give you.

Respect for our team and patients

We treat every patient with courtesy and respect, and we ask the same of everyone who visits. We do not tolerate violence, threats, or abusive or discriminatory behaviour towards our team or other patients, and we may end our relationship with anyone who behaves in this way.

Your records and your data

We keep clinical records, including notes, X-rays, photographs and scans, as required by law and professional guidance. How we collect, use and protect your personal information is explained in our privacy policy.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of your care, please tell us. Our complaints procedure explains how to raise a concern and what happens next.
