Dr Shivan Dave

Shiv is the Clinical Director and co-owner of Widegate House, and has practised dentistry since 2008. His work centres on aesthetic restorative dentistry, dental implants and oral surgery, and patients know him for warm, attentive care and close attention to detail.

He qualified from King's College London and spent 12 years at King's College Hospital, one of the UK's busiest oral surgery units, where he also taught. There he gained wide experience of complex extractions and soft tissue biopsies, and he has removed hundreds of wisdom teeth, including teeth lying close to the nerve. He then moved his focus to restorative dentistry and complex cases that bring several areas of dentistry together.

He holds the MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (2011) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the UCL Eastman Dental Institute (2020), and has completed further training in the Ankylos® implant system. He is a member of the British Dental Association and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

At Widegate House he combines restorative dentistry with a digital workflow, including same-day CEREC crowns, plans implant treatment in 3D with CBCT imaging, and provides Invisalign® treatment and laser dentistry. He also assesses oral medicine problems, such as persistent ulcers and lumps, and takes biopsies where needed. He leads the practice's emergency care and also sees patients at Sardinia House in Holborn.

Outside work, Shiv is a father of three. He plays football twice a week and spends weekends supporting his sons' football.
